Google Docs: An Introduction
EDIT: June 10, 2010
Looks pretty nifty, eh?
In short, Google Docs is an online word processor. As such, it includes many of the benefits of Web 2.0 technology that we normally associate with web sites such as Facebook, YouTube, etc., but it does so within the structure of a word processor, presentation software, and/or a spreadsheet. Perhaps the most valuable benefit of Google Docs is the ease of collaboration.
Before we get started, you can find more tools and information at the following web sites:
Google Docs Templates--Browse templates for documents, spreadsheets, forms, surveys, quizzes, gradebooks, etc. Many of the templates are customizable.
Google Docs for Educators--This is where I snatched the above video. The education web site has much more than testimonials, though.
Okeedokee. Let’s get started.
