National Newspaper Week (October 5-11)
Submitted by karlfornes on Wed, 10/01/2008 - 09:11National Newspaper week is October 5 through 11, and Traci Gardner has included gobs o' resources at her NCTE Inbox Blog. Among the resources is the article we read as part of the 2008 Summer Institute, so I thought it might be of some interest.
By the way, I snagged the link from the "feed aggregator" in the left menu after you log-in to the web site. I occasionally forget about the Aiken Writing Project's feed aggregator with automatically updated links to resources, so I wanted to remind myself and others of its presence.

Annotated Bibliography
Submitted by karlfornes on Mon, 06/09/2008 - 12:34I created the initial outine for the Annotated Bibliography and created a link in the right-hand sidebar. The first page includes some directions for browsing, printing and updating the bibliography. I included some entries in the Response and Evaluation "chapter" that can be used as models for posting to the bibliography.
What's New for May?
Submitted by karlfornes on Thu, 05/29/2008 - 11:08
The work has been primarily "behind-the-scenes," but, worry not, I have been plugging away at the Aiken Writing Project web site. Here is what's new on the site:
An Inline Editor
For each blog, image, page, story or book entry, users can now use our automatic WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor to "easily" include the html code for a variety of simple text and layout options, such as bold, italics, colored text, images, fonts, etc. Pretty nifty, eh? With a little prompting, I may even add smiley faces.
A Feed Aggregator
Welcome!
Submitted by karlfornes on Tue, 05/13/2008 - 17:51Welcome to the brand spankin' new Aiken Writing Project Web Site. As you may note, I have a lot of work to do on the site, but stay tuned.
Use the links to your right for Aiken Writing Project information or to visit related web sites.
In the meantime, I will continue plugging away at this site . . .
